STEVE ADAMS

Balgownie Geoscience was set up in 2020 by Steve Adams upon his ‘retirement’ from full-time employment in the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry.  Balgownie Geoscience is his vehicle for continuing to be involved in all aspects of Geoscience – learning, educating and participating.

Steve was born in Fife, Scotland and after growing up and attending schools in Scotland and Hong Kong decided on a career in Geoscience.  A B.Sc in Geology from Durham University and a M.Sc. in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, London followed.

Steve is a successful, dynamic and enthusiastic Geoscience leader and practitioner with over 37 years of global E&P experience with significant expertise in the North Sea, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East.  He has worked across the E&P lifecycle and from Majors, Independents, Consultancies and Private Companies.
